One common assumption in the predatory pricing literature is that the predatory firm must be larger and have deeper pockets than the victim of predation, usually an entrant. This note shows that, under plausible conditions, large diversified firms are more likely to exit in the face of predatory behavior than are small nondiversified entrants.
